*Puppets--great for pretend-play. (Manhattan Toys make wonderful puppets!)

*Building toys--simple blocks, such as bristle blocks or standard unit blocks, and early gear sets. (For great sturdy unit blocks, check out Melissa & Doug, they make the best wooden toys).

*Puzzles--especially floor puzzles, a good brand will have larger, durable pieces that are easier to work with and fun to walk on!

*Lacing and simple beading toys--either foam or wood sets. Great for hand-eye coordination.

*Art supplies--paints, big crayons, easel, dough, etc. You can never go wrong with this stuff!

Just a few suggestions to get you started. Have fun!

I have a 3 year old son, and his favourite games are puzzles, I try getting him different shapes & oppposites.

Also at Toys R Us they have this (my first leapPad learing system by leapfrog) it is very entertaining, it is an electronic book with a pen attached to it and every time he touchs the book with the pen it teaches him the words, songs, counting & numbers.

and the best thing is that they have a variety of books for different levels and even I enjoy playing it with him.

    you can check their website

    http://www.leapfrog.com/do/browseproducts?ageGroup...

and you will find most of the products at big toy stores.
