How do you meet?

I'm hetero, and I have always wondered how gay people meet? I know that if I'm looking, I can ask just about any woman for a date, but how does that work for gay people? I really am curious. Thanks.

Thanks for the answers. Like I said, I was curious. One of the best bars I've ever been in was a "bi" bar. I got asked a couple of times, but just said I was straight, and it was cool.

As far as how do I know the women I ask are straight, I don't. But, if they are/aren't, I just get shot down. *L* I thought that it would be more difficult to meet people of the same sex to ask out, and was wondering "Secret handshake?" type of thing. *L*

    The same way. We do have lives, you know! lol. We meet people at book clubs, we meet people through work, or school or common interests. There are ways to make sure you are meeting other gay folk. Going to a bookstore that caters to the lbgt crowd, ummm...word of mouth. Being introduced...that kind of thing. There are ways of going about it. And, by the way, how do you know that every woman you ask out is straight??

    gay chat rooms, or resturaunts or clubs or libraries, grocery stores, the zoo, the gym... the lines between homo and heto are blurring. especially if you're a not to hard on the eyes lez. lots of het females want to try. if i don't know i just ask them to coffee or lunch or something. i think that's harder for men.
