Chrome Red Spinel in its unpolished form - an octahedral crystal habit - set in an antique design.

I love sapphire! I would love to have a dark, dark stone with plenty of gold band maybe in the shape of a flower, or something unusual like that. My oldest brother designed his second wife's engagement ring himself. She LOVES daisies, and so he designed a ring that had gold petals and a black onyx as the center stone. It was off the chain!!! So I have never much been a stickler for the traditional diamond, anyway.

1- Blue Topaz: cools tempers
2- Blue Sapphire: truth, sincerity, constancy
3- Opal: hope, purity
4- Emerald: faithfulness, unchanging love
Any (or all) of these stones would love great in an antiqued setting of 14k gold or platinum.
My fav.. as the saying goes "Diamonds are a girls best friend"
5- Diamond: fearlessness, invincibility

I would choose an antique style ring with a fire opal in it. The man I marry has to ignite my passions with a fire that will not die, represented by the Opal. Perhaps set with smaller stones of my birthstone amethyst, both for the symbolism and because it's pretty. :)
