Adults, what do you want to be when you "grow up"?

I don't know..I haven't reached that stage yet.

First of all, I must say that I am an Infant Adult (only 20 Years of age). Now, back to the question. I hope for a nice family or for a happy, prolonged bachelorhood (til death parts me from my body :D).

Professionally, I would like to start a personal business, even in the field of media (Political sciences magazine, hopefully), or end up somewhere near the top of a hierarchical structure of a multinational company.

Spiritually, I already know that God is with me, therefore I can say that that field is covered.

What about you?

I'm 26 and have been running from that since having a really bad year in 2004. Until then, I thought I'd go to graduate school and become a counselor and maybe move to Saint Louis (I grew up and lived near Branson MO).

S*** happened. I got burned on everything. I ran away to NY.

Trying everything I never had the nerve to... and not completely happy with that, either.

I've been doing alot of thinking lately, needless to say.

Personally : I would like to be more vocal to express my love for people I love, because life changes in a moment. And then you wonder you never really said you cared for that person, or loved that person, what that person meant to you. I would like to express my affection and love in every possible way to the person I love.

Professionally: I would like to fulfill my father's dream and establish a empire which not only is a good business but a social entreprise. A enterprise which is beyond profits and an institution for bringing up the society. At the same time be a good person and a boss who is a facilitator, who helps people achieve their dreams and aspirations.

Spiritually : I know God is always by my side, guiding me, motivating me, teaching me, telling me to learn the hard way i.e., by making mistakes and learning from them. I am blessed the way He has taken care of me from time to time. I believe in Swami Vivekanand's saying which is "Service to fellow mankind is service to God". Spiritually I would like to do just that. I would like to work for the downtrodden and less fortunate as a service to God. At the same time, keep remembering the Supreme entity in my every effort, so that my little mind does not get egoistic.

There places to be travelled, roads to be walked and miles to go before I sleep.

I dont know yet. Thats the reason I built my career around children so I do not ever have to grow up!

Sure in my line of career there are some very serious issues that I have to face---unfortunately as an adult...

But we get to have fun and be children daily!!!

Why grow up?

I am a 22 yr old housewife who wants to get her cisco certification. I want to be an even better wife and mother. And I want to do some repair work in my relationship w/ God. I'm working on all of these things now. Please wish me luck because it is a long road. How about you? You didn't say why you wanted to know. Are you perhaps at a crossroads and are looking for ideas? Why do I have to "grow up"?? Personally, I'm convinced that remaining young, in your mindset, is the key to not growing old--which is one reason I have no gray hairs yet at 45. Of course, that may be why my ex- accuses me of "Peter Pan Syndrome"....

When i grow up i want to be a singer, just like Aaliyah or Alicia keys. They are my role models to become a singer.
