I don't know your budget, but generally the best way into N.Y. is via Newark airport. Flights are generally cheaper and midtown is a quick cabride away. there are also special shuttle buses. a cab From Jfk or Laguardia can be murder depending on the time (rush hour).
You could probably save a little staying in a Jersey motel, but then you'd need a car rental, and parking in NCY can be rough. If it is in your means, try to stay in Midtown
The Sheraton is an older hotel, but the rooms are comfortable and clean. I work in the city and there are nights when I am in a building looking out over Times Square.I think there is nothing more beautiful than NYC at night from a few floors up. It's a memory you won't ever forget.
Hope this helps, enjoy your trip. Tom

I would try all three of them and see what the savings are. I usually go for the DEAL! But take into account if I will have to rent a car with one option and not another. Try http://www.halladazevacations.com/CustomTrip.html and save on a package with air, hotel and car rental! You can also go to http://www.halladazevacations.com/attractions.html and get your Color Purple tickets so that you aren't disappointed at a sell out when you get there. People at this agency are wonderful! Plan ahead & save lots!

Depends on your budget. I don't know how much you want to spend or how much you can spend. Generally is cheaper to stay in New Jersey, from where you can get fast and with out spending to much money into Manhattan. Have a good time! And I know you will. Manhattan is wonderful!
