Migranes & Weather?
I recently started getting migranes, and I take Excedrine but sometimes they are so bad that I have to lay down or even take a nap in order for them to go away. I have been checked out and was told to stay away from several things that trigger them. Lately, I have been gettin them frequently and I noticed that they usually came on when the weather was changing or the pressure in the air was fluctuating. I was wondering if anyone knew if migranes and rapidly changing weather patterns are connected?

That sounds more like cluster headache than migraine, but yes, it happens to me.
When I get a migraine, it's usually on one side, behind one eye. I become light and sound sensitive, and generally nauseated. A hot pack on my forehead sometimes helps.
When I get a cluster headache, it's more central and throbbing. It's usually triggered by allergy or weather changes. I've noticed that if I stand in a hot shower with my forehead on the cool tile, the temperature differential seems to help. Also, a cold pack on my forehead can sometimes help.

Excedrin is not very good, try taking 2 Naproxine Sodium [Alieve] every morning and 1 at night, your headaches will be gone soon. This has to be done daily to work, the longer you take it, the better it works. For really bad headaches get some Imitrix from your doctor.

Yes. Your sinus cavities swell shut. Then the barometric pressure in the atmosphere changes. The air trapped in your sinus is at a different pressure. If it is more then it expands causing pain. If it is less then it contracts causing pain.

i have that problem had it for 10 years...ask your doctor to give you a tilt table test to check for pots syndrome....it may not be this but its something to look into....i usually end up in the ER once a month to get a shot for my migraines...and a lot of them are triggered by barometer changes

yes they are the pressure effects the inner ear and that messes with your brain
migraines are seizures so the brain gives you a migraine when it is bothered by some signal it doesn't like
strobe lights can do it to avoid them also

I do not know if there is a study about that but my mom suffered from them and found the same thing you just stated to be true for her.
