Rick James was one of the pioneers of punk funk.

Best known for "Superfreak" BTW that is not HIS best song.

In the late 80s and 90s James fell on hard times and many publicized legal troubles including being jailed for rape/drug possession.

He died a few years ago.

Rick James was a 70's and 80's R&B singer. He passed away last year. In the Ghetto & Superfreak were two of his more notable hits, even in light of his recent passing I'm still having trouble forgiving him for producing Eddie Murphy's
