What would you suggest doing if you travel overseas with little children?

I will be traveling overseas in a few weeks. I am going with my three children (all under 6). If you have traveled by plane like that, what did you do to keep active or hyperactive kids busy?

Wow! Sounds ambitious - and brave! There are a couple things you can do to try to make the trip a bit easier.

Make sure they wear comfortable clothes and that you have a change on board for each of them.

Bring a surprise bag for each of them filled with toys, games, books, puzzles, crafts and things that they like. Don't give it all to them at the same time. Bring out new stuff during the trip to keep it exciting.

Bring a DVD player and a couple of their favorite flicks (or ones they have been wanting to see - new releases).

Get up and walk up and down the aisles throughout the flight with them.

If it is overseas flight - chances are you will be flying overnite. Bring a favorite blanket and security object if necessary.

Bring some healthy snacks that they like. Airline food isn't always the best and it is a good idea to keep their little tummies full. I don't recommend sugar though!

Try to get a bulk head seat section so you have a little more leg room. Depending on the carrier, you might have to wait until you check in to ask for this - but call the air line and submit the request anyway.

Good luck and have a good trip!
