what are some good low calorie foods that are satisfying??
i am dieting and every now and then i want an "in between" meals snack. what are some low calorie choices that are satisfying?

Dannon's light yogurt is very good. It also gives you a fuller feeling for about 90 calories. The best part is the bonus calcium which every woman needs lots more of then they tend to get. Good protien for exercising too.
A bananna is also just about perfect "People Food" ... very good for you and dirt cheap too !
Apples are OK, but I get sort of tired of eating them. So much work ! LOL
Unsalted pretzel sticks ... not too filling, but gives you something to munch on ... sometimes that's all you want. I also will snack on a little bowl of dry cerial when I just want to munch.

flavored yogurt is awesome!
flavored buttermilk is a good drink too - it fills you up quicker than yogurt, and is a good coolant for the summer. just take 2 tablespoons of yogurt, add some salt and cumin powder, 1 glass of water, and blend it all in a blender.
beat a little yogurt, and add some salt and cumin powder to it. grate some cucumber or defrost some frozen spinach and add it to the yogurt. this is a healthy and very filling snack.
firm tofu is also a very healthy snack. take 1 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of hot chinese sauce and marinate some cubes of tofu in it for about 10 - 15 mins. dice shallots and tomatoes, add a little salt to them, and mix with the marinated tofu. its a healthy and quick salad.
smoothies made with soft tofu are good too. add any kind of fruit to tofu and sugar or honey to the tofu and blend it all together.

Avocado is excellent! It has absolutely no colesterol and is a good fat(monosaturate) with loads of potassium. Nuts(pistachios, brazil, cashews etc) are also excellent, as are fresh fruits. Blue berries are quite wonderful. They are high in fiber and filling while not being high in calories.

A bowl of porridge, weetabix and of course some low fat popcorn. All brill and low calorie!!!So why aint I stick thin??!

Chinese food..... it's good, satisfying, but you get hungy again a half hour later..... so just close the fridge and say to yourself, "what the heck am I doing!?" and close the fridge.

Sorbet or frozen yogurt are good choices if you want something sweet.
