Does any company make a laptop with enough memroy to run Photoshop and Macromedia programs?
I'm a graphic designer/desktop publisher. I like to travel over the weekend, but would like to hove something to do when I get back to the hotel (I don't rent tv shows). Are there any laptops available that could run my design programs - Photoshop, Illustrator/Freehand, Painter, Quark - if I saved all my work to disc? Or should I just get a backup hard drive?

Check out the new Dell XPS M1710 laptop. It will be the answer to all your questions!!! Or you can settle for the less powerful but equally impressive Inspiron series which can run any programs or games. Their Latitude series workstation can hold 2 GB or more of RAM memory so everything will be a breeze. I guess there will be similar laptops in other brands as well.

My Laptop is rather old and it runs both these programs easly. It's a Dell Latitude. If you already have a laptop go onto Ebay and buy a HDD Drive and install it. That doesn’t work then it’s not the HHD space you need. It’s RAM. Buy some RAM larger than the one you have and install that. That should do the trick.

Any of the major computer manufacturers make laptops that will work for you. Just remember you will probably need at least 512 megs of Ram and a Pentium IV processor. The more ram and the faster the processor the smoother it will run.

You know my PC have specification :
PII 400 Mhz
Ram 128 MB
Hardisk 40 GB
VGA 8 MB
can run both Photoshop and Macromedia programs but not really smooth so buy better than my PC to run those programs smoothly. You better burn your work to cd for safety.

My powerbook (Apple 17") does it daily! Not to mention I travel the world with it. By day it runs at least a half dozen programs at once.. at night I watch either DVDs or a TV show I've downloaded from iTunes.

Um, my laptop has no problem runnig any of these, and it's made by Gateway. If you travel often or have lots and lots of gigs of saved work, you should get an external hard drive to store it on.
