Reluctant P.C. Power on button?

My power on button will not start the computer unless I turn the main power on and wait 2 - 3 minutes? - everytime??????

Please help I have ran out of ideas.

    It just might be that the button itself has finally wore out. How old is the computer and how many times per day is it turned on and off? Try replacing the button and see if that cures the problem.

    you have a defective power supply, try to replace it, because the old one is intermetent defective , it is not worth repairing just buy a new power supply

    yeah...also check the power supply for your pc. might possibly it worn out or power not supplied sufficiently
