Gibbs left NCIS, because he solved the case but no one listened to him and innocent people died. So he got mad and decided that it was time for him to go. The show wont be the same with out him.

He's not done. He'll be back. The title was "Hiatus". That leaves it open. I can't see him sitting on a beach living life. He is too passionate about what he does. It is going to be he** waiting for the next season.
