    Margaritas are my specialty :)

I use a shotglass to measure my drinks individually.

1 shot tequila (my prefered brand is Jose Cuervo Gold)

    1 shot triple sec

    4 shots mixer

Shake well with ice or stir.

cut a slit in a lime wedge and rub the edge of your glass with it. Then dip the edge of your glass into rock salt. Place 3-4 ice cubs in your glass and pour your drink over ice. Then squeeze the lime you used on the rim of your glass and drop it into your drink for extra flavor.

I usually use Jose Cuervo brand mixer. Some alternate brands can be too sweet or too sour. When its too sour you can use additional triple sec to sweeten it.

Source(s): Learned this recipe from a dear friend in New Mexico and then experimented by trial and error until I got it perfect.

2 parts Orange tequilla - Jose Quervo make it

1 part Triple Sec - which is also an orange flavor

    .5 part lime juice

add orange slice - serve on the rockies.

I tried this last week at a margarita party I threw and people went crazy over it.

For me its the basic recipe but I add cilantro, makes a huge difference. Oh, and a good brand Tequila

Source(s): Tequila and just lime would be called a "gimlet" Also the same name using gin or vodka.

The best margarita is just tequila and lime juice. Thats all you need if you have high quality tequila.
