I just got a ticketed by Yahoo for violating community standards. This place has standards?

I know it was from a cretin that didn't like the answer I gave to a lame question. I have seen every single abominable question under the Sun asked here, and I get ticketed?

Update:

I argued my case before the court at Yahoo once before. Fell on deaf ears.

Update 2:

It's time for me to mow the lawn, file my taxes, milk the cows, and do my homework anyway. Thanks for your solidarity.

I guess, even though they are loosely enforced by a group of people lacking in common sense and understanding of how Cyberspace works. Yahoo Answers is trying to do the impossible, create a Utopia on the Internet. Most people have already accepted that this is impossible to do in a community accessible by all who have access to a computer.

Yahoo says that if you disagree with a ruling you can e-mail them but I think everyone knows now that that is a bunch of BS. I know one person who got a personal response from them and when all was said and done their account was still suspended.

The Reporting system is useless. The worst thing that happens is after so many violations your account is suspended. the offenders just create new accounts in minutes so nothing really changes. The profane and inane questions keep coming this time through new accounts. The users also abuse the reporting system. Instead of reporting actual violations they report content that contrasts with their personal views or content from people they dislike.

Yahoo Answers Team, give it up. Accept that in this vast world of Cyberspace that people will push their free speech right to the nth degree. No matter how hard you try, you can't create Utopia on the web. You are in a position similar to the proverbial dutch boy. If you insist on having ridiculous community guidelines, enforce them fairly and stop relying on the community to do it.

Users, if you don't have a thick skin or can't accept the viewpoints of others, stay away from the Internet and gravitate to the more controlled environments of the dinner table or water cooler to pose your questions. this way people will tell you what you want to hear and there is less chance of you getting your feelings hurt. Remember, everyone has the right to free speech as well as the right to IGNORE content that is offensive or questionable.

To make this a better and useful community, it helps everybody if we report abuse when see someone violating the guideline, instead of ourself becoming another abuser.

Yahoo doesnt have people watching this and monitoring questions and answers it is down to users to report abuse or inappropriate questions/ answers. Just so happens you were reported and these other people have not been (or if they have its not yet been processed).

Unfortunately, Yahoo leaves it up to the "yahoo community" to report abuse. They don't even check it to see if it is really abuse. If you get reported, you get a warning. Idiotic.

You just happen to be caught. If you see stuff that is you don't think is ok, then it is up to you to report it.
