It is just a little bit of blood leaking. It doesn't always coincide with pregnancy by the way. I wouldn't worry too much about as is usually normal. However, you still need to see the doctor just in case.

Spotting is small amounts of blood that comes out of the vagina. Very small amounts. Like a drop. If you have more than that see your doctor immediatly. I know this because I had spotting and then some more bleeding later. I had to take progesteron pills for the next 12 weeks. It helps the placenta to do what it needs to do. If you have painful cramping with the spotting see your doctor ASAP. I lost a baby at 6 weeks because of this. I know have two children and the same thing happend again but since I knew what to do everything went well. I hope I have helped

Its a small amount of blood still comming out. It usually looks brown, like dried or old blood. Kinda like the last day or so of your period when you still need a liner but are no longer bleeding red. If the spotting is red and you are pregnant, just watch it carefully. If you start to do more than spot (literally just a few spots, not a flow), then might talk to your doctor for safety sake.

Spotting is very light bleeding like you have during your period. It can also just be bleeding enough to turn your cervical mucus red. If you see any signs of this call your gyno immediately.
