Best bet is,the A/C Condenser is set up and when you turn on the A/C, it siezes the belt and causes the car to stall out. Disconnect the Wire clip going to the Condenser and see if it eliminates the problem.

yeah the alternator, when you kick on the ac it activates the condinsor(this is where the a/c gets the cold from)its taking a drain from the alternator which gives your car power from the battery.once youve replaced it it should be corrected,do it soon though if the alternator is going bad it will eventually drain youre battery dead, and thats just more pains in the a**!good luck,be sure you have someone do it cause youre suppose to unplug the battery completely before fooling with the alternator or bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!good luck

It is not normal for the car to die when you turn on the heater or a/c even with a low batt. You most likely have an electrical short , do not do again until checked by an electrical Mechanic your car could catch on fire. Good luck.

The added strain of your A/C on the alternator is possibly too much for the alternator to handle. hav a mechanic look at it!
