Why do men think they always have to be in control of every situation?

because we're men and dont really have the full control of our own minds at the best of times, its childish I know but hey, like mny grandfather use to say "women grow up, men just get older"

I really don't think this is true at all. Seems a bit stereotypical to me. In fact while we are on the subject of stereotypes, from what I've seen at my school and in life, it's the female race that thinks they need to be in control. Girls that I've seen just love to control guys like they are property and tell them what to do all the time. And if they don't do what they say they get all pissed off. Being a female myself, I think is really stupid and immature, but that's because I have a very go with the flow attitude. Now depending on the situation, guys can be controlling as well. The characteristic of "control freak" is not just designated to one gender, because it all just depends on the individual's personality. Most people like to have their way, male or female. Sometimes men or women feel that they need to take control of situations because they don't think the other will or won't do as good of job or make the right decision. Or it could just be that they have a dominating personality, in which case that's their own problem and they need to be told to cool it a bit. Either way, people need to learn compromise with others and stop thinking that their own opinion is the only one that matters.

Men like to be in control because its part of our instinctual need. I think testosterone has something to do with it. Historicaly men needed to defend the family and tribe. Having the strength of a man does warrant the need to control (it).

You've got it backward. Women always to control every situation (in a relationship).

Why do you want to be in control? Men are designed to be the head of the household, the provider, the leader. That is their role in nature. You can't change nature because you want to be the one in control.

Because their men, they always have to be in control and always be wright and always be better than woman!
