My locks won't unlock with my key easily. I have to really work at it and it happened with both doors...

But now one door won't unlock at all and neither will the trunk. I can never lock my doors and my car keeps getting broken into! How much should I expect to pay to have them fixed? Anything I can do myself?

Update:

My key is brand new, from the dealer and works the ignition just fine.

Get a tube of powdered graphite and use it on the locks that should work and last quite a while...

It sounds like your key is worn out try a spare set of keys if they don't work then the locks are bad.Depending on how mechanical you are and how much money you want to spend you have a couple of options

    1. go to a salvage yard and buy locks for the same year your car is

2.buy brand new locks from a car parts store

u might have to get the locks changed but they make a lube for key and locks that might work. i dont know what its called but u might be able to find it at a hardware store where they make copies of keys. I believe its graphite based

Try silicon lubricant spray, not WD-40. WD-40 attracts dirt and may work initially but cause buildup down the road.

get a can of WD-40 and spray in the locks.
