Can anyone tell me what happened on the season finale of Grey's Anatomy?

In order to get Denny the heart he needed Izzie cut the line to the machine helping his heart. He had to get worse in order to move up the line on the transplant list. George was there when she did it. When things started to go bad he went & got Meredith to help.

After Burke was shot he asked Christine to go check on Denny. When she walked in Denny was in trouble & she had to inform the gang that Burke wasn't coming. In the middle of it all Denny came to just long enough to ask Izzie to marry him.

Dr. Bailey went and found everyone together. She told Izzie she was no longer a doctor until she told her otherwise. Denny eventually got the heart.

Each member of the gang swore they were the one that cut the wire. As a result none of them were allowed to do anything surgical. They had to do whatever a certain patient wanted (she was the chief's niece & she has cancer) which happened to be attending her prom. So their punishment was to set up a prom for a bunch of teenagers.

Derek & Meredith decided it was best for Doc if he was put to sleep. They were both with it when it was done & he was to be buried beside Derek's trailer on a spot overlooking the water.

Izzie told Denny she would marry him.

Burke had to have surgery to correct a problem with his hand. Not sure of the results yet.

George told his girlfriend that he wouldn't tell her he loved her because it would just be because she had said it. When he said he loved you he wanted to mean it and asked her to give him time to mean it.

Meredith and her vet (Finn Dandridge) were waltzing together at the prom as were Derek & Allison. Derek & Meredith stared into each other eyes across their partners shoulders. Meredith ran away & Derek followed. They argued some and then made love.

As Izzie was going up to show Denny her dress he started have pains and flatlined....he was alone.

Just as Derek asked Meredith what their making love meant George's girlfriend found them and told her George had sent her...it was Izzie. She tidied Meredith's dress so no one would know.

The gang went to Denny's room. Izzie was curled up next to Denny on the bed. He had passed on and she wouldn't leave. Finally Alex convinced her that it was no longer Denny and lifted her in his arms. He sat with her on his lap and let her cry.

Christine who hadn't been able to handle what was going on with Burke up until this point, ran to his room and grasped his injured hand to show him that she was there for him.

Dr. Bailey told Chief Ricards that Denny had died.The chief was looking for the interns especially Izzie to tell them what had happened. The whole group (minus Christine) came down the hall led by Izzie. She stopped and told him that she was the one that cut the wire. She also said that she had thought that she was a surgeon but she wasn't so she was quitting. She walked down the stairs with Alex and George following her.

Finn told Meredith he would take her home. She just stood there looking at him. He looked at her and all of a sudden he looked at Derek who was just standing there. Finn said "Come on Meredith". Meredith just get looking at the both of them, who both kept looking at her..and that was how it ended.

Well you missed a really good season finale but I'll try to sum up the basics...With the death of Denny, Izzie decides to quit her internship. She thought she was a surgeon but realizes she's not. Burke will be fine and was able to move his arm (you missed a very intense surgery). Derek and Meredith hook up. They leave us with Meredith looking at Derek and Finn, wondering who she will choose. Guess we'll have to wait till next season. Hope it helps!

Izzy went loco, she is being held in the sub-basement until they can transport her.

Burke's arm had to be removed due to nerve damage, he dumped his girlfriend because he was ashamed he could no longer be a surgeon.

McDreamy and Grey slept with each other, while McDreamy's wife watched from the bedroom window.

Oh, and the dog died.

oh....well you missed the best season finale this year....we can describe it but...it won't be the same. Izzy quits at the end....and burke survives after almost being paralyzed.

denny died, izzie left, mer and der get together, doc die, burke loses some hand function, yang freezes... i think that's it

It wasn't a black and white ending - there was a lot of grey area!

I heard it was really grey & boring!
