Are there any hidden costs on ebay?
I want to buy an ipod on ebay cos the prices are better than here in South Africa. If I get it shipped from either the states or hong kong are there gonna be import duties which they dont mention on ebay?

Usually shipping and tax are the charges besides the item price. There is a huge variation on shipping charges, especially for international shipping.
Different sellers charge different things, such as handling fee. If the item description does explicitly say how much is the shipping for the destination address or through a shipping calculator, then I think that amount is pretty much you need to pay. However, there are also many sellers who don't mention shipping and other cost in the item desciption. Also some lists shipping rate for US destination.
The most important thing is to ask the seller if there is any question, and wait until you get the answer before you bid. I have seen outragious shipping charge for forenign destination.

as per my experience their are no hidden costs on ebay just the courier charges but still if u have some confusion they provide u the seller's contact information u can directly contact the seller and get to know abt it wether their are ne additional charges or not .......
