How do I know when the pineapple I just bought from the market is ripe and ready to cut and serve?

The skin will have a yellow cast to it, and the "Green" will be easier to pull out.

Smell it. It should smell sweet and juicy. Squeeze it a little too. It should be firm, but should give a little bit too.

If you can easily pull a leaf out of the crown, it is ready.

It will smell sweet and have a yellowish color to the skin.

and squeeze it - it should just feel a little soft. not much though.
