I ended my dsl service once and Yahoo offers you a "moving" helper that helps you transfer all your data to basic yahoo account and you keep all the stored emails as well. You may have to change the ending of your email (to @yahoo.com) but that's it

When you switch from dsl to dialup you keep your yahoo email. The only thing that is different is the speed.
