You should know better than to say no prejudice people allowed. There is aways going to be people who hate pits just because their pits. to the person who will never trust pits because one turned on a toddler. My nieces lab turned on her toddler and put him in the hospital in surgery to save his eye. My best friends beagle turn on him and he needed 50 stitches. The St. Bernard next door to me when I lived in KC MO broke the neck of a Pincher. Any breed can turn on a person they are wolfs. There is always a wild streak. Pitts have a bad rap. They have been rated a 83.9%

by the ATT. ATT is the people the insurance company's turn to to rate the temperament of dog breeds. Pits have better temperaments than poodles, beagles labs, golden retrievers. Facts are any dog can turn. If you want to be safe buy fish any other animal can be mean.

My pitbull turned two years old two weeks ago and not one day have I regretted getting him. I chose him b/c I know his family, including uncles and grandfather but before I made a final decision I did months of research. Pitbulls are like a child, you have to spend time everyday going over goals and giving them exercise. I've never had a better pet and friend, my dog is actually too friendly to strangers sometimes. He's very intelligent, he knows when I dont' know someone or if I'm excited to be seeing the person, if I'm upset he knows too and gives me lots of sympathy, whether it's with him if my boyfriend has upset me for example. They aim to please, point blank!!! Check out this magazine that helps with training and what to expect of pitbulls, Fully Bully Magazine. I will have more pits during my life and I will always love me first baby!

  • My Uncle had 3-and they were trained-he was a US Marshal. We did play with them and they took cookies from our months. We all have our faces. They were very good with us and we didn't live there. Trained and didn't look to kill-and he showed 2 and won many times (they have to behave at the show-or they have bad manners.) That's the good news.

Now you have to remember this dog has a very vicious bite. Worst then most if not all. So you have to be always aware to protect. This animal has a low torrence level too of things that scare or he or she feels Danger or a Threat.

(Thoroughbreds have a different nature than Quarter horses-just the way it is.)( Rarely would you buy a child a young thoroughbred)

One of my Uncles dogs got crabby when it got old-(could happen to many)but remember this dog has a vicious bite that could ruin if not kill. And my Uncle raised him and showed him- he was crabby with him too -just old. This dog was kept away from all for their protection! Because he did change when he got old-and he let it be know if he didn't like something (even though he allowed it before) he would bite. There was no mistaking it. _

    All I have to say.

Except I hope the spell cop isn't here-my speller is giving me grief.

The 2 pitbulls I have had contact with have been gentle dogs, they are a product of their environment luckily they have gentle owners who taught them well. Sadly they have been abused for their strength and ability to be trained as vicious dogs so have gained a bad reputation. They are high on the list of dogs that are more likely to cause harm so they are a restricted breed here. But any dog can turn nasty, I had a golden retriever turn on me when he got old & ill. It took 3 attacks on me b4 I decided to listen to the vet & have him euthanised. So any dog can be good or bad all depending on situations and treatment.

Pitbulls are awesome! Most people that don't like them don't have any or have never had any... Plus, people train their pitbulls to be attack dogs. You can't just assume that all pitbulls will be the same!

I love Pitties! They are so cute and awesome. We have a Pit/Lab mix. He's so sweet and cute. People who have problems with teh breed dont know what the hell they are missing. Dont judge a book by its cover, and what people think about it. Get to know a Pit, mixed or pure. When our dog meets people he just rolls on his back for a nice belly rub. Has never bitten a single person. EVERY DOG BITES! NOT JUST PITS OR ROTTIES!

Pit Bulls are wonderful dogs, though they are not for everyone. I have helped rescue numerous Pit Bulls. Despite neglect (and even abuse in some cases) they were sound, loving dogs.

    A well-trained Pit Bull is a joy.

My grandmother had one, and he was the sweetest dog one could know. I loved him and never once felt endangered by him. But I could never own one today as there is so much controversy around them. Home owner's insurance can even be higher based on the fact that one owns this breed of dog.

Beautiful Breed. Too bad so many bad people have caused a horrible reputation for it.

Love them. They are great and loyal pets. I have never known any who are agressive.

It is the ones who have bad owners that cause all the trouble.
