Making Nike sneaks in Asia pays about $3 day, US price $120. New Balance pays US workers $10-12hr?

New Balance shoe price, $60. Half the price with triple the manufacturing cost. Could the Nike endorsed athletes who influence millions of US kids to buy their shoes, influence Nike to produce even 1% of the sneakers in the US. No doubt. New Balance manufactures 70% of their sneakers in the US. Could Nike do half that and stay in business, I think so. This goes for all sneaker manufacturers. Just Do It...

Do you want Nike to make less money?

I am a Nike shareholder and I disagree with your proposal.

    The question is:

What if New Balance moved all their factories to Mexico and paid all their workers the minimum wage of $5.15 USD PER DAY and sell you the shoes for $30?

    What do you prefer?

A $30 Shoe made in Mexico with 0 Employees in the US or a $60 Shoe made in the US with thousands of employees in the US.

Take a Poll to 100 of your neighbours and see for yourself the results.

The shoes from Mexico wouldn't be of the same quality, so the $30 price tag would represent getting what you pat for. I agree, baying millions to stars to promote a product that is grossly overpriced because of the recklessness of their marketing is bordering on criminal. But so is the consumer mentality that floats a $120 shoe on the market.

Yes, but nothing beats Nike marketing and product development.

How do we deal with the dumb-as-dirt consumers who are more than willing to shell out $120 (or more) for a pair of sneaks! As long as they are with us, somebody will always be right there to take their money.
