Well, I don't know what kind of dog it is, but you can tell pretty early. With my sister's chihuahua you could tell at 4 weeks. Well, really earlier but that is when we meet her.

I would say 4 months or so....they tend to get rid of their baby hair right around the time they get new teeth...hope this helps.
