No, they're not. They used to be in the days of JFK, but the democrats have been taken over by the extreme left. They believe they're right and everyone else is either morally corrupt or stupid. They treated John McCain as though he were a criminal yet he is a hero who was willing to give his life for his country. They have no manners, no class (see Bill Clinton). It's a shame.

All politicians are wicked. But Democrats typically tend to be more intelligent and better educated than their counterparts. Also they tend to cause less damage to their countrymen, their environment, their economy and their international neighbors.
Republicans are liars, thieves and destructive people.
