how do u deal with the pain of fibromyalgia?

I have pain all through my body 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I keep moving but I have days where it gets to me and I just break down and cry. Is there anyone else out there that has a great way to deal?

Hi Thumbelina. I have a couple of suggestions. First, be sure you are not deficient in Vitamin D. This simple vitamin is commonly deficient (deficiency is at epidemic levels) and recent research suggests that it is commonly misdiagnosed as 'Fibromyalgia' because both conditions cause chronic pain.

Second suggestion is a wonderful book by Sherry Rogers, M.D. called: "Pain Free in 6 Weeks". Dr. Rogers is a specialist in clinical biochemistry and environmental medicine. She is a published researcher, has over 35 years of clinical experience with problems like yours and teaches other physicians at large medical conferences. Her book explains many common causes of chronic 'fibromyalgia' types of pain. These underlying causes are not well known by most physicians but include things such as: food allergies (especially to the food group known as 'nightshades'), heavy metal toxicities, chemical toxicities, intestinal dysbiosis (overgrowth of the wrong kind of bacteria in the gut), leaky gut syndrome (allows excessive absorption of bacteria, chemicals and toxins into the body that literally poisons you), and various vitamin, mineral and other nutrient deficiencies.

This is a powerful book that can guide you to the underlying cause(s) of your pain and help you make the changes you need to get better. You can order it at Amazon.com or from the publisher at 1-800-846-6687.

    Best wishes and good luck.

Some days are better than others. Most of the time I am pain free these days. I still have a bad spell every once in a while. I tried medications that Dr's prescribed only to find myself sleeping way too much and always feeling lethargic. I started by detoxing my body. I did away with anti inflammatories. I take vitamins daily and exercise daily. Nothing too drastic, walking.stretches,yoga. I have found as long as I stay on a routine, I have control of the fibromyalgia and it no longer controls me. I don't cry about it any more. On a bad day I take the whole day or what ever time I can to pamper myself. Hot bath, heating pads, massage showers, sometimes a day of movies on the coach and just enjoy. Instead of crying, treat yourself. You deserve it.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last October. It's nice to know the pain is "not just in my head" as many doctors think, but it is difficult to deal with daily. I have to work which makes the mornings so hard until my pain medicine kicks in. I see a rheumatologist and he has prescribed Ultram ER, it is o.k. but I worry about the side effects. I don't want to get dependent on the medication. The doctor told me to stay away from any artificial sweetener and coffee. There is a website called gethealtyagain.com they have many good suggestions. I am sending you lots of hugs for today. ooooooooooooo
