My 2 year old pit bull gets really red irritated eyes during high pollen. My vet told me to give her 12.5 mg of benedryl. It doesn't make her sleepy at all and helps with the eyes. She stops rubbing them all the time when taking the meds. I'd contact your vet first to find out that she doesn't have a different condition that needs attention first. Then ask based on her weight what you can give her over the counter. Good luck.

Dogs can get pink eye. Maybe let a vet check it out.
Also, if you are doing annual vaccinations, have a look at what Wisconsin University has to say. Allergies can be caused by vaccinations. Also see the recommendations from the American Animal Hospital Association. These are the recommendations being followed by all 27 US vet universities.

It is safe to use eyewash, and this may help. She can also have benadryl. She really need to see a vet about this though.
