How do people get struck by lighting while taking a shower during a thunderstorm?

    In a typical house, the vent stack (typically cast iron pipe) extends through the roof. Lightning striking it would travel down to ground. Lightning can flash over to the adjacent water pipes and follow the water, or flash back up from the drain plumbing.

    In my opinion you cant unless you have a window by the shower.But the lightning could strike a building and cause a surge of power to run through the metal piping and or wires and you can get electrocuted by touching or standing on anything that comes in contact with the volts of electricity.Seeing that water and electric don't mix!

    aint easy, but mostly electric wires and pipes carrying the electricity.
