Can I transfer itunes file from a PC hard-drive to a mac hard-drive?
I think that since the itunes format is the same on both PC and Mac, (.mp3) it should work.

Yeah you sure can. Mp3 is a universal music format. So you could even upload them to a website and then download them to your mac. You could even burn them to CD and move them over that way. Both the PC and the Mac will see the Mp3 files as any other data file.
If you have itunes on both your PC and your mac, you could even use your Ipod to move them over and between the two computers.
