Do I have to set up the date and time settings on my Nikon Coolpix P2 every time I charge the battery?
I take out the battery in order to charge it, and when I put the battery back in and turn the camera on, I am asked to go through the set up all over again. It really seems like a waste of time to edit the date and time to do it then.
How would I make my camera hold onto the time and date? I've tried it once already, and it was really annoying to have to program it again. I do not have an AC adapter, because it costs extra money that I do not have at this time.

If your camera has a built in charger, or a plug outlet on board, then all you have to so is plug in the AC adapter to the camera.
some cameras also have a very small battery the size of a watch battery that is specifically designed to hold your settings (time and date included). so you can revive the main battery and keep all the settings.
check your owner's manual for further details, as not all cameras have this

no not really,
if u yank the batteries out when the camera is on, then it would need you to reset the date and time, [truss me, i had a Nikon Coolpix 3200] but the other than that, the camera should be smart enough to understand that the batteries need to charge.

I don't have your camera, but is there any way to keep it powered while the batteries are out? For example, plugging it into the wall or the computer? If you can keep it powered it shouldn't reset the date and time.
