By most counts 192, but it is not as simple as that. Many places that consider themselves countries are not included in that number - for example, Scotland, Taiwan, Bermuda, Greenland, Western Sahara, Palestine, etc.

Let's see, I'll name them and you can count them---Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Albania, Andorra, Algeria, Angola, Austria, Australia, Antigua, Argentina, bolivia, brazil, bahamas, barbados, belize, burundi, botswana, bahrain, bhutan, bangladesh, brunei, bosnia, belarus, belgium, bulgaria, benin...................oops. I got bored. Sorry, somebody else is going to have to take it from here. I think I got you all the way through the Bs, though.
