    Stephen King: The Stand

Read it will scare your pants off....it makes you wonder what if?

After a plague is accidentally released upon the world the few survivors are divided between the forces of good and evil to determine who will rebuild the world. The plague starts off with flu like symptoms (sounds a lot like avian flu).....

Every time I read this I seem to get sick....coincidence I wonder?

'Brimstone' by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. It is about this guy who played this trick on 3 or 4 college students and threatened that they would die in like 20 years and then the guy invented this human microwave and kills them without a mark. THe reason why it doesn't leave a mark is because with a microwave, it cooks them from the inside out. So, if they wore any metal, it would be burned into their skin, which happened.

I remember Misery was pretty intense (although not scary), and Stephen King's Skeleton Crew had a lot of stories that creeped me out.
