What are your thoughts on interracial relationships?

My boyfriend is black and I'm white. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. Love sees no color right? I know for a fact that black women don't like the fact that I have a black boyfriend. What's the deal with that?

Update:

Just to clarify... I don't have a problem with it, my family loves him and doesn't care what color his skin is. He's from Florida and apparently the black women there are not very accepting of a white woman dating one of "their" men. I was posing this question for interest sake. I love him and I don't care what others say.

As an African American women, there seems to be a issue w/interracial dating due to our history. Its not anything personal w/white people in general. All African American women do not have an issue w/black men dating outside of their race. The issue may start when a African American person, in general, is asked why they are in an interracial relationship and they defensively answer by saying that all black girls this and all black men that, basically negative stereotyping. And how do you know for a fact that black women have an issue w/you ? Don't take it personal and don't make a big deal out of it because as African Americans, we also date outside of our race. If this is someone that treats you the way you want to be treated and you are happy, go for it and enjoy life ! Quit worrying about what others think of you and you wouldn't even notice that someone may have an issue w/you.

I think its great. It's both a love relationship and a cultural relationship..learning about ideas from a different perspective..so its mind expanding also.

Not all black women feel that way. But some people out there are against mixing races....forget them..

There's nothing wrong with an interracial relationship. Some people don't like it but you shouldn't care what they think. He's your man, not theirs. If you both accept it and your families accept it, others shouldn't bother you.

I think it's fine. It shouldn't matter at all, but I'd carefully consider what the relationship with you're family would be like. Make sure you can be strong and deal with other people's opinions.

    How do you make love?

    you can't make love happen,

    you cant buy it,

    you can't try it

    'nor return it,

    you CAN earn it,

    just be brave,

    don't behave...

stick your legs up in the air,

don't forget to shave your hair

any position will do you fine,

    screaming louder every time

    hold him closer, whisper fU**

remember then you have to duck,

here comes that white stuff, please dont cry,

you forgot protection with the wrong guy.

now your pregnant, emotions shoot out.

pay your child support, and bi*ch get the fu** out!

    I made that up!
