How can I find out if they cashed my money order?
I sent a money order for a game I bid on ebay. I asked for the quickest shipping (in which I would receive it in 2-3 days) and I sent it over a week and 1/2 ago. I still have the "receipt" from the Western Union money order. Keep in mind, I did not do it online. I sent it by regular mail. Is there a way I can find out if they cashed it? I am afraid I was hoaxed out of my money.
I did email the seller on multiple occassions, but never responded. I had to settle the dispute in order to get a reply. I am no longer worried about the game. They can have it. I just want to know if there is anything I can do to find out if I lost my money!!
I cannot use paypal... I do not have a credit or debit card. And I have a joint savings account with my family, therefore I cannot have the funds transfered. But thanks everyone!!!!

Contact E-Bay, by phone or computer and explain what you have done. This is why you should use Pay-Pal. They will contact the seller and see what he says, also take the receipt back to Western Union and see if the MO was cashed and by whom.. If it has then contact (or try) the seller. If nothing is worked out then he is a Federal case, and you might point this out to him. transactions over State lines ending in fraud, falls in there jurisdiction....good luck

generally even if you didn't purchase it online Western Union would have a way of tracking it online, you said you had the receipt, just go to their website, they will probably ask you for some info off the receipt you have and they should be able to tell you whether it's cashed or not. Have you asked the seller whether they have received your payment? Remember you can not only put a STOP to your money order (which means you will get most of your money back minus a fee for putting a stop on it) through Western Union, but you can also report this to ebay if you are truly being scammed.

I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Sometimes Money Orders take a while to receive. I use ebay all the time. One time, it took the seller almost a month before he received my money order. If possible, next time you purchase something from ebay, use PayPal to ensure it will definitley be received.
Hope that helped.
P.S. Don't be afraid to contact the seller of the game you bought. Tell him to keep you alert when and if he received the money order.

Yes you can cash a money order. Its like a check. It has to be filled out by the person that gave it to you. You sign the back and either deposit it or cash it against your account at the bank.

Well, if you sent the MO 7 days ago, two of those days were a weekend, so they may not have received it until 4 days ago.
If it takes them a day to get it together to pack it and ship it, then send it, it's really only a day late.
Contact the seller to ask when they sent it.

There is a 1-800 number on the money order that you can call. Follow the instructions on the phone and you can find out if it was cashed and if so, when it was cashed.

Yes call Western Union, give them your reciept number from the money order. Ask them if it has been cashed...hold onto that reciept if you lose it, there's no way of tracing them.

You will have to go back to the store where you bought the money order and get a form to fill out. I do believe that it will cost you

Yes you can. On the money order after the payee write "or" and then your name. Then sign the back. Or the other way to do it is to go back to your bank, write "not used for intended purposes" on the back of the MO and sign it and deposit it into your account.
