I think that Alberta is great and that you should just stay put.
Everybody is coming here because we have jobs.
Alberta has been contributing more that its share to Canada.
I am getting sick of supporting the east and of the people that think that Toronto is the centre of the universe (that's american thinking).

This is in response to Poutine and the "sick of suporting the East" comment. The Maritimes entered the Confederation rich provinces, and got a raw deal... Because the government has to get Quebec and Ontario votes to win the overall election, guess who gets neglected? Guess who gets the jobs? Ressources were taken away from us and given to the more populated provinces, the ones with the most seats in the senate. It must be nice for Alberta to be able to keep the revenue from your natural ressources rather than having it taken by the federal government.

Alberta is NOT overrated at all.
I don't think they are "self-righteous" or any of the rest of it, just nice, friendly people.
I do think that a lot of people in the Maritimes feel that they get a raw deal and are neglected by politicians.
I've lived in both places for several years and experienced both sides of it.

Alberta does not support Toronto. Both contribute more to Canada than they take. However, there's a lot more self-righteous yapping from the west about having the work ethic and moral standards needed to live next to a trillion dollars of oil; Toronto's economy is about manufacturing (autos) and inventing (RIM) things.

Alberta is getting a sense of self-importance but they probably feel the same way about us Torontonians.
