Well unfortunately if you are looking to spend only 100-200 dollars you are rather limited in options. However you should be able to find a reasonably good acoustic for around that price range if you goto a good new and used music shop. Music-go-round or mister money are both places that sell quality used stuff for decent prices. I would recommend getting a 24-fret maple neck regardless of what brand you end up buying. Also Six strings is standard for most all guitars. If you husband is an amatuer guitarist than he is most likely familiar with six-string guitars. As far as strings go my personal favorites are Elixar nano webs but that is just me personal preference. Most all strings are pretty good it just depends of the gauge to determine how thick or light you want your set of strings to be.

That albert C guy isnt making much senseVerrrry few acoustics have 24 frets as you cant reach the upper frets. I would recommend going to your local Guitar Center and ask them to show you what they have. I find Guitar Center's staff to be quite knowledgeable unlike other big music stores

When I purchased my Ibanez S5470 from Sam Ash, I used to be competent to haggle them into giving me the two 12 months unfastened setup/upkeep/assurance plan. It expenses someplace round one hundred greenbacks however It's lovely effortless to get them to deliver it to you. However, Sam Ash and Guitar Center are recognized for his or her now not so best set-ups. They're almost always strung up immediately outta the field and don't seem to be established good.. Set usaalmost always price round 25~30 greenbacks.

To be truthful, buying you're husband a cheap guitar for father's day if he already knows how to play is insulting. Buy him memorabillia, perhaps a guitar clock/neon light ?

I bought a dinosaur guitar for $99.00. It actually sounds pretty good......especially for the price.
If you buy used, a few good names are:
Gibson
Fender
Yamaha
Martin
Ovation
Taylor
