Its vasoline and its used to help stop the bleeding of cuts. If there is too much on the referee will make the corner wipe off excess.

It is Vaseline they use this to stop the bleeding of cuts on the face and also the glove will slide off the face and it will reduce the risk of getting cuts this is why the ref will often wipe boxers gloves and face.

It is not a cream, it is Vasoline, so a glove does not cut a boxer's face.

Vaseline. I acually put it on my hands because my wraps tend to rub and cut my hands so I put vaseline along my knuckles and then wrap and put tape over lol my trainers have tried a lot of different things on my hands and thats all that works :| I have petite lady hands so they need extra attention.
