Can the 4 gb hard drive of a dell latitude cpi be replaced by an internal 40 gb hard drive? Many thanks .?

    should be able to. if they're both Dells, that is. and if Dell hasn't changed their hard drive/hard drive bay since whenever 4GB drives were actually manufactured. you should call their Customer Service to be sure. but i don't see why not.

  • Chances are your CMOS will not recognize the harddrive beyond 4 or 6 GB. If it does it would not be much more. But it would not support the full 40GB. You should try to find a 20GB, it will save you money, and still offer the same amount of space.

    cant say...but its unlikely...your motherboard might not support it...
