I'm having problems writing/transferring audio/video to CD.?

I'm having problems writing/transferring audio/video to CD. Tried using real player and windows media with no luck. Using XP. Keep getting error messages, one stating to check to see if disk is clean, even when using new disk. Any suggestions?

Aint sure what you are trying to burn but I can tell you I have had many failures with bargain basement off brand blanks! I purchased a 50 pack of staples cds once and 30 percent of them failed the burn process. I finally quit being cheap and now buy only the top shelf cd and dvd blanks. Your money ahead in the end! It also depends on the media type. Some burners wont work with DVD+R while others will.CD-R and DVD-R seem to give best results.
