How can I treat Chlorine damaged hair?
I had to wash my hair in highly chlorinated water for 4 months and I didn't use chlorine shampoo.
Now I am using normal water again but my blonde hair has gone really brassy in tone. I have tried using chlorine shampoo but I think the damage has already been done!

Try mannoise treatment. I know it sounds nasty altho it helps with alot of things where your hair is concerned. Put the mannaise right on your hair usually a full jar has to be manaise though. After that put a towel over your head and leave it there for about 1 hour. Rinse it out and your hair will shine and get rid of the damage that is in it. You may have to do that about 1 time a month or so for a bit although you will see a difference after the first time of doing it. You may need a cloths pin to put over your nose though as the smell it bad. hehehe Hope that helps

The chlorine shampoo will only remove the build up. However, the build up is partly responsible for the brassy color you are experiencing. Chlorine removing shampoo can also be very drying to the hair. Use a moisturizing conditioner. Paul Mitchells Instant Moisture Daily Moisture is an excellent choice. if the odd color persists you may need to color your hair in order to tone the unwanted shade out.

Some conditioners help remove chlorine and re build and protect the damaged hair. I find best to wear a hair cap to reduce the damage in the first place, and then apply a swwimmers conditioner generously, leaving for 5 or 10 minutes before rinsing it.
GOOD LUCK!!!

The only way to get rid of Chlorine is to use a good "Clarifying" Shampoo...If it does not have those words on it....it's not really getting rid of the chlorine....I've also been told that Kiehl's has a great product line tailored for different hair types and colors...It worked great for a friend of mines....Look under it's sporty treatments sections and under blondes.

I used to use Tomato Paste after swimming. It got the green completely out of my blond hair! Just leave it on for about 30 mins. and rinse. I don't know if this works for chlorine damage too though, but you know mayo is very conditioning!

Try using a leave in conditioner or oil treatment to repair dry damaged hair before using a hair stripper, if it's really too brassy to live with, as your hair will be dry for a while afterwards. I suggest having a professional strip your hair and then color it if it is too bad to just apply color to. You may want to get an opinion from a salon, just walk in and ask for help what to do, they won't charge you for advice. GOOD LUCK

Rinse with vinegar, wash twice and dry. These procedures will strip out all dirt and left over shampoos + conditioners. Your hair will be clean and shine again.

Tomato sauce takes the "green" tones out. Spread on damp hair, wait 5 minutes, wash off thoroughly and condition well.
