i personally wouldn't recommend it. there is always the fine print. depending what type of breed you have everything is not covered. for instance rotties have hip problems. bc of this if your rottie has hips problems, the insurance company won't cover it because it is common to the breed. there is also a fee schedule. they only cover so much of each visit and treatment. they also don't cover existing conditions.
for fifty dollars (or whatever amount it is, i forgot) a month it could cost for the insurance i would suggest putting it a savings account for your pets vet cost. i go to the humane society myself and pay about eighty dollars a year for the visist and shots. i use to go to a vet hospital/office and would pay almost double. i have only spent about four hundred dollars on my dogs health in four years.
if you take fifty dollars a month away for your pet that equals six hundred dollars that you may or may not use. you might be able to save your self a little vacation $$

Banfield has great plans....although they are not "insurance", they save you a CONSIDERABLE amount of money. My dog is on the dental plan which includes vaccinations, office visits, fecals, a DENTAL, and lots more. It saves me tons!! A dental alone costs around $300....this plan is less and includes so much more. They have a pay by month and a lump sum option for payments as well!!
