LIVE from the BRAIN!!!! What type of music is that guy with the headphones listening to?

I'm the guy with the headphones listening to music.

I am actually listening to music to the music I have made. It consists of me playing the drums and my best friend playing guitar. We collaborate on the keyboard stuff. It is all instrumental and very technical and complex music much like Dream Theatre or Rush.

We are currently working on finishing our CD of 8 songs. The CD I'm listening to is the rough mix of our songs. Some of them are unfinished or have sound issues.

If ou are not familiar with the progressive rock genre (like Dream Theatre) it is music with a metal edge, but with very melodic grooves, dualing guitar and keyboard harmonies and rythyms, and varying time signatures. For example, one section of our song is in 9/8 time, which means you have to count 9 8th notes before the next measure begins.

We are sort of between names right now too, so I don't have one to give you.

His name is Tim and he's my Brain-mate. I just alerted him to your question and he should be answering it soon himself. I do know it's his own music, as he's in a band, but I don't know the name of it. He's an author too, he's a pretty talented guy.

May be he is not listening to any. May be the woman next to him is his nagging gf and to put her off, he has put the headphones on, so that even if she nags, he listens less of it.
