Visit Southbank. It was the location of the World Expo in 88, and has been transformed into one of the best locations in Brisbane. There are a multitude of cafes, restaurants, weekend markets, and also has a man-made beach and lagoon. It's the perfect place to go for a walk, or just chill out on the grass, or sand with a book. The city art gallery, museum, and theatres are also in this area, so great if you want to do something cultural. You can jump on a city-cat (catamaran) and cruise the Brisbane river. Go around to New Farm, and check out this area too. Lots of gorgeous restaurants, and lush riverside houses to drool over.
One restaurant you should go to eat is...Garuva!! But take a friend or 2, as it's not really a dine on your own kinda place...it is 'hidden in plain sight' which means you won't know it's there, as there is no signage. So how do you find it? It's just a big wooden door, on Wickham St, between the Wickham pub, and the Audi car dealership. Fantastic ambience, asian-fusion meals very reasonably priced. About $14 each main. Wear comfy clothes, as you sit on the floor, and each table is quasi-private, as you are curtained off from other diners. Hope you have a good time there!!

www.ourbrisbane.com. Great city. The city-cat ride is a must. New Farm, Fortitude Valley have the most lively night scene.

You must visit the Gold Coast too, its only 45 minutes drive, or catch the train from the Inner city.
