Would you vote for me?
I believe in some basic elements of Government:
1) The Government is here to:
A) Protect our People from Others
B) Protect our People from Other People
C) Collect Taxes to do A & B
2) You have a right to do to your body what you want with anything you want as long as:
A) You harm no one else
B) You don't expect the Government to pay to fix what you broke
3) Complete freedom to do what you want in 2, above regardless of the drug or weapon you choose, your sex, religion, hair color or orientation.
4) Flat taxes. Goverment in my World is Tiny so the taxes will be to.
5) No Social Programs, Social Security, Welfare, FEMA cards, Education Credits. All Gone. It is the job of our Society (the People) to care for our infirm, not the Government. Who cared for the elderly in the 1600's? It was our community. Nonprofit organizations are good at raising money and with lower taxes there is more to go around.
Thx
I ran out of room for more of my stance, but this might work.
Military must be strong in order to defend ourselves and our rights.
Bill of Rights is actually out-dated as it does not protect the rights of GLBT's. It needs to be updated with ALL PEOPLE CREATED EQUAL.

So you're an extreme libertarian. I agree with 1, 2 and 3. But we do need social programs. The community was able to care for the elderly in the 1600's because back then few people lived to be elderly. In the 1930's, the poor and the elderly had no one to look out for them except the government.

No, and I'll tell you why.
No social programs? Who WAS there to care for the elderly in the 1600s, no one, cause there were no "elderly," they all died before age 50.
Modern society is founded on social programs, without them, where would you have learned to read or write? You are using the internet, which came about because of social programs. If you compare the U.S. to Sweeden, you'll see that in the U.S. we have a huge millitary, we have massive deficit, and no healthcare. The Sweeds, on the other hand, need almost no millitary because they've pissed no one off. They pay alot of tax, but enjoy some of the highest standards of living, and as a result, are quite wealthy per capita compared to the U.S.
The thing is, social programs have worked wonders for this world. Were it not for social programs, we'd esetially be, Africa.

Well so long as the Bill of Rights is maintened firmly. You didn't go into much detail (obviously you don't have room to discuss all issues) about military strength or spending, which is a critical issue in governing our people.
I give you 3/4 of a vote, lol.

Theoretically it sounds good, but you would just turn into a puppet. The curse of the government.
