If you could watch a ballgame with any magor leaguer (past or present), who would it be and why?
And who would you cross the street to avoid? I'd love to sit down and chat with Sandy Koufax, just because he is so reclusive. I'd avoid Barry Bonds at all costs, no a good example of a good human being...

I would have loved to sit down and watch a game with Kirby Puckett (RIP). I am a Die Hard Tigers fan, but I (sports) idolized KP growing up. I would just love to hear his view on the game and even if the game was slow, he would always keep me smiling. A close second would be Buck O'Neill. He is one of the greatest storytellers ever.
Coincidentally, I could not stand Wade Boggs. No specific reason why, just never liked him. Probably because he and KP were always competing for the batting crown. Might be a decent guy though.
Great question. Makes you relive the glory days of your youth. Always felt like I was sitting down next to Ernie Harwell when I would listen to the Tigers game late at night with my radio as a kid.

Personally, I'd love to watch a ballgame with former catcher Dan Wilson from the current Seattle Mariners. Seriously, when I was a kid, this guy was my hero, and he was kind enough to give me an autographed card upon request. Not only has Dan Wilson inspired just "fans," but he's also been an activist in the Seattle community, helping people here and there to make the city even better.
As for wanting to AVOID, I'd say it'd have to be Roger Clemens. I read and even watched an media review about his baseball and personal lifestyle, and just the appearance portrays him to be quick tempered, impatient, and unkind when things don't go his away.

I would loved to have watched Mickey Mantle in his prime, before the injuries. I am old enough I got to watch him play on TV and did watch the Mantle/Maris home run race.
The Babe was great to his fans but lousy to his friends and family.
Ty Cobb was just lousy to everyone.
Nolan Ryan pitching that first no hitter.
Jackie Robinson first stepping onto the field.
Cal Ripken first stepping onto the field.
Shoeless Joe's play during the scandal. (He didn't play like someone tossing a game from what I have heard.)
Say Hey Willie Mays in any game, but probably with the immaculate catch.
Whitey Ford, Stan Musial, Yogi Berra, and any of 100 or so other players in any game. It is not the who, but just getting to watch great players play the best game in the world.

Nolan Ryan. I missed being able to watch him and he gets the nod over anyone else because of the best fight in MLB history: "Ventura gets 6 hits off Ryan". At 40+ he beat the snot out of Robin Ventura (23 years old?). Ventura was nicked by a pitch, charged the mound, was promptly put into a headlock by Ryan and was kind enough to let his face/head be target of 6 Ryan punches.
Funniest highlight I have seen from one of the greatest players...so, Nolan Ryan is my answer.

Cy Young. No one will ever break his record and I would love to hear about baseball in the "OLD" days before it was the route to fantastic wealth and men played for love of the game (or am I being too naive?). Anyway, it's still Cy Young and I wouldn't cross the street for Sammy Sosa.

I would love to watch a game with Paul LoDuca or A-rod. They're both my favorite. I would definitely avoid Bond's.

BOB UECKER! While he was not a great player, the man knows more about the ins and outs of the game, and he is so entertaining about it! Unfortunately, he is a total *** to the general public. I've met him, and he hates people who aren't a part of the game.

For me it would be George Brett because I am a huge Royals fan.The Royals haven't had many high profile players and so I think it would be cool to see in person a Royal make history like he did.

Brooks Robinson. Because there is absolutely no one that can say a bad thing about him. A great 3rd baseman and a greater human being.
