It is under the vehicle, about 3 feet in front of the gas tank. In that year, the fuel filter used a rubber line and quick connects. The problem was that the quick connects would rust out. Chrysler offers a repair package for about $30. However, you can get around this by using clamps and rubber fuel line. It's a lot cheaper and does the same job. As for replacing it, every 50-60,000 miles is a good idea.

Well.. to be Frank (pun intended) it appears that your van is on the down hill side of it's life. First, do a tune up. On this model, all you can really do it change the plugs, install new plug wires, replace the air filer and change the oil. Check to make sure the tires are properly inflated. Run a bottle of injector cleaner through it and then run high octane gas for a tank or two. Now.. once all this is done.. if your still experiencing this problem, then you're gonna have to look at the engine more closely. Is it burning oil? If you loose more than 1/2 a quart between oil changes (3,000 miles) then you are. If so, this is most like due to bad rings with will affect performance and the only way to resolve is a rebuild. If you are not burning oil, then it's likely that you have fuel/air mix problem that can only be resolved by an experience technician. You may have to put the old girl down as she may have reached the end of her life cycle. Check your state website, Texas offers $3,000 trade in allowance for all vehicles older than 10 years to help remove low milage / bad emmission vehicles from the road. Your case sounds like it would fit this program perfectly. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Couldn't tell you for sure without looking at the van but usually they are under the vehicle could be on either side (drivers or passengers) but usually along the edge toward the rear of the vehicle it would be attached to the fuel lines, pretty easy to take off. Sometimes it will be under the hood. And sometimes they are in the fuel tank, if that's the case if you don't know what your doing i would take it to a mechanic. If it isn't when you do the service make sure the gas cap is off and keys are out of the ignition. Good luck, hope this helps. Also generally they need to be replaced every 30,000 miles

You should replace it. Look along the driver side frame rail.

or follow the gas line from the tank.
