how to tell a person to listen when they only want to hear their self?
Not that this pertains to me, just curious for a friend of mine
patience? my friend could be dead by the time she had patience for this person. she just rattles on.
(always wanted to see if her face was blue at the other end) hardly a breath inbetween lol

First, you listen to that person completely.
Unless You listen carefully than do not expect that person to listen to you. The key is Patience.
