No, it isn't 20mb. It is 10 megabytes (see source).
However, your outgoing server might not allow 10mb; maybe it only takes 5.5mb (like my old one).
Your best bet for anything about or over 10mb is yousendit (http://www.yousendit.com)./ It can send files up to 100mb for free. Rather than attaching it directly to the email, it gives the recepient a link to download. It is fast and easy.

I've never had any problems with attachments in Gmail myself and have found it more reliable than hotmail or Yahoo mail.

i guess it is 10mb, but i recommend you to use yahoo mail. because attachments don't add easily on gmail and you to try several times.

well i heard upto 20mb file size.. i m not sure of it,
i didnot try it though,
