U cant delete default folders like inbox, sent, bulk, draft, trash. But u can certainly delete the folders created by u. To do this, click on edit button near the inbox folder. U will see a list of folders. Now again click on the edit button in front of the folder u want to delete. Now delete all the messages in that folder and empty it fully. Now come back on the previous page and click delete the folder u hv emptied. Only emptied folder can be deleted. Take care of this thing.

Okay did some checking for you on my own yahoo mail acct.
When you check mail you will find your folders listed on the left hand side. Click "Edit" right at the top next to were it says "Folders"; this will take you to the folder page.
Under all the folders you've created it says "Remane-Delete"; clicking delete here will rid you of the folder.
It also has listed the total number of messages in each folder, how many unreads, and the total space used by a folder in case you need to free some space in your acct.
Hope this helps.

Click on the "Mail" button and select "Folders"
This gives you a list of folders. Under the ones that you are allowed to delete is a "Delete" link. That will remove them.
You cannot delete the 5 default folders (Inbox, Draft, Sent, Bulk, Trash)
